Mikado uses inverse kinematics to calculate the joint angles of the robot arm and its working paths. The robot, gripper and gripped part are fully collision-checked. autopick - The Picking Robot by psb
For some years now, we have been experiencing a robotics hype in intralogistics in trade journals and at trade fairs. Mostly, these are classic six-axis jointed-arm robots, which are looking for their way from production to logistics. The goal: fully automated small parts picking. The main driver here is the labor shortage.
Securing Germany as a production location through automation - this could be the headline of the innovative, fully autonomous production line of Schuster Maschinenbau.
For an automated assembly line, highly polished rotors had to be removed from a pallet bin. The parts are about the size of a fist and lie chaotically in the bin. Mikado finds the parts, checks for suitable gripping points and, in this case, moves a Kuka robot through the cell fully checked of collision by integrated path planning. There are two removal bays and the camera is moved back and forth using a linear axis.
Thin sheet metal parts are sometimes delivered by the thousands in KLTs or pallet boxes. For subsequent processes such as machining or assembly, single sheets must now be fed in the correct position. This is where Mikado Control as a solution for bin picking plays a major role. Typical challenges of such applications can be solved in this way.
